Riverside Elementary School District #2 is a fast growing K-8 district located in Phoenix, Arizona. Our 867 students are served by a dedicated and committed staff who strive to instill a love of learning that our students will carry with them throughout their lives. I hope your family has enjoyed the summer break and you are excited about the opportunities for academic excellence that await your children. Kings Ridge staff, Riverside staff and I look forward to partnering with you to ensure that all children are prepared to excel. A reminder that the Governing Board approved realigning the schools for the 2008/09 school year:
The two campuses now share Principal, Mr. Tom Cox and Assistant Principal, Mr. Larry King. Their offices are at Kings Ridge School and parents with children at either school are asked to call 602-477-8960 or come to Kings Ridge if they have any questions about your child's school placement, concerns or need information. Our first day of school will be Thursday, July 17th. The instruction day for Kings Ridge will be 8:10am-3:20pm. Breakfast starts at 7:50am. The instruction day for Riverside will be 8:35am-2:30pm. Breakfast starts at 8:20am. Parents may drop their children off up to 30 minuets prior to these start times. The drop-off at Riverside is at the gate just north of the old Principal’s office. Drive in from the north to the drop-off area and an Aide will be there if you need to talk to someone. The drop off at Kings Ridge remains at the east entrance. From the north make the slight left to drop at the door; from the south, drive around the parking lot driveway back to the door to drop off. Please check our updated bus route schedule and make note of your child’s bus number, stop location and the time you can expect your child to be picked up and returned. Please ensure your child is at the bus stop before pick-up time. Please note that the times will vary during the first week of school as we settle into a schedule. Also, be aware that more than one bus may come through your area; therefore, please be sure that your child is on the correct bus. If you have any questions, call the Transportation Office at 602-820-3710. To welcome all of our parents and students, and to answer any questions about our school, there will be a "Meet the Teacher Night" on Tuesday, July 15th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at both schools.
